Infrastructure Initiative Moves From Community Input to Action.
VelocityTX and its partners hosted a community wrap-up meeting for the Eastside Access & Infrastructure Initiative, which is focused on improving connections along Cherry, East Houston, Nolan and Commerce streets. Residents and stakeholders reviewed proposed projects aimed at creating safer streets and crossings, better sidewalks and accessibility, improved lighting, more trees and landscaping, and more welcoming public spaces.
Feedback from the meeting will shape a final report that organizes those projects by corridor and identifies priorities for future investment. The report will be presented to City staff, elected representatives and committee members to help move the strongest community-backed ideas toward funding and implementation. Learn more >
The goal is to turn community priorities into clear, fundable projects that improve how people move through and experience the Eastside.
