Darlene M. Boudreaux, MBA, CPA

Former Executive Director of TechFW
Biography

After nearly 20 years as a CPA specializing in international tax with Andersen, Darlene co-founded a pharmaceutical manufacturing company with her father and brother.  Her father died soon after the company was founded and Darlene bought her brother’s half of the company and became the CEO, leading the company to tremendous growth. She was named the 2003 Ernst & Young Southwest Region Entrepreneur of the Year in Life Sciences, was the only American on the list of the nine Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World in 2004 and was on the Inc 500 list for three years in a row.  Following her sale of the company in 2006, she became Executive Director of TechFW, a technology business incubator in Fort Worth, establishing multiple programs for entrepreneurs, universities and angel investors, including the Cowtown Angels Network.

Since her retirement in late 2018 from TechFW, Darlene has continued her work with entrepreneurs:  coaching TechFW clients, serving as fractional CFO for other early-stage companies, serving as Board member for two companies, investing as a member of the Cowtown Angels and the VIC Investor Network, and volunteering as CFO of BioNTX.

David Clark

Biography

David Clark joined the Texas Research & Technology Foundation in June of 2013 as its Director of Investment Services. In this capacity David works directly with both entrepreneurs and potential investors in preparing ventures for possible investment activity.

In all David’s positions his responsibilities included not only management of sales and marketing operations; but, also, strategic and tactical control of new product initiatives, product launches, and marketing logistics. David’s broad based sales & marketing background in a variety of markets and products brings real-world experience to the process of launching new ventures based on innovative technologies.

David holds a B.A. and J.D. from Southern Methodist University.

Monica Hayes

Principal and Founder of Fusion Success Group
Biography

Monica C. Hayes is the Principal and Founder of Fusion Success Group, where she provides process development, project management and coaching and training services to clients across bioscience, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors. Prior, she spent over fifteen years in medical devices helping companies turn their ideas into commercially viable products, most recently as the Director of Engineering at Viant Medical.

Monica received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP), and Executive Coach. She is active in the San Antonio community, serving formally on the Board of Directors at The Health Cell and the Events Committee for the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind. She is also a mentor to students through UTSA’s Leadership Academy and puts on yearly women’s leadership conferences through the Leadercast organization and Southwest Research Institute.

Ralph Johnston, MBA

Biography

Ralph Johnston, MBA, has extensive experience through a series of start-ups in biotechnology and medical devices. He was the co-founder of several start-up ventures, including Contour Medical, a specialty medical device, diagnostic and drug delivery consultancy, Integrated Genetics, and Intranasal Therapeutics. He was the CEO of Tomophase Corporation, a medical imaging device company employing optical coherence tomography (OCT) in interventional pulmonology. Mr. Johnston also gained management experience in a large medical diagnostic company, serving as Director, New Products, Corning Medical, and a pharmaceutical company as Vice President at Pfizer Infusaid for Worldwide Sales and Marketing.
