Accelerator Programs
Community Health Accelerator
Presented in partnership with Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, the Community Health Accelerator promotes awareness, research, and innovation related to the social determinants of health (SDOH). In addressing these non-medical factors that impact personal wellness, this first-of-its-kind program seeks to advance health equity in communities across South Texas and beyond.
The Community Health Accelerator is tailored to startups that are working to commercialize innovations that address disparities in education and socioeconomic status, among other factors, and will provide a collaborative and nurturing environment to accelerate the development of these technologies.
About the Accelerator
Interested in participating? Applications close June 1.
The Community Health Accelerator is a cohort-based program that provides growing companies the assistance they need to overcome the challenges that frequently cause startup companies to fail. Programming is modeled after the gold standards of the industry, and includes a structured curriculum, mentoring, business education, operational advice, pitch coaching, peer collaboration, and more.
Cohort companies will participate in a public Demo Day pitch event at the conclusion of the accelerator and receive the opportunity to run a pilot program of their technology in the Methodist system.
Community Health Innovation Seminar Series
Hosted throughout the Rio Grande Valley, the sessions are free to the community and aim to raise awareness of SDOH among emerging innovators, students, healthcare professionals, and the general public.
