San Antonio/Salt Lake City-Based Freyya, Inc. Seeks to Advance Women’s Health

SAN ANTONIO – Alamo Angels, Texas’ largest community of accredited angel investors, announced today that it has led the pre-seed round for Freyya, Inc., a San Antonio/Salt Lake City-based femtech company driving innovation in women’s pelvic floor health. The investment comes just months after the company took home a $75,000 grand prize at last summer’s BexarBio Pitch Competition.

Co-Founded in 2023 by Gabriele Niederauer, PhD., Freyya is the serial entrepreneur’s latest venture and marks Niederauer’s second partnership with Alamo Angels. The group previously supported her work with Bluegrass Vascular Technologies, a locally-based medical device company that achieved a successful exit in 2023.

“We are thrilled by the immense support we continue to receive from the San Antonio community,” said Niederauer, CEO of Freyya, Inc. “Alamo Angels’ investment was critical to the success of Bluegrass Vascular Technologies, and I am confident that their leadership in Freyya’s pre-seed round will help us improve quality of life for at least 25 percent of U.S. women who experience a pelvic floor disorder.”

Alamo Angels continues to support local startups by connecting founders with capital, mentorship, and strategic guidance. The group has been instrumental in nurturing the San Antonio innovation ecosystem, providing resources to promising early-stage companies like Bluegrass Vascular Technologies and Freyya, as well as others across various industries.

“Having witnessed Gabi’s leadership and vision with Bluegrass Vascular, I am confident in Freyya’s ability to bring a product of significant value to market,” said Lara August, angel investor and Founder of Robot Creative. “This is the kind of opportunity angel investors look for—a proven entrepreneur with a solution that addresses a critical market gap, and the reason I personally invested in Freyya.”

The investment from Alamo Angels, combined with Freyya’s funding victory at the BexarBio Pitch Competition, is accelerating the company’s research and development efforts, speeding its path to market. By supporting entrepreneurs like Niederauer, Alamo Angels reinforces its commitment to empowering innovative startups that have the potential to transform industries and improve lives.
